Review: Love & Gelato

Love & Gelato Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Absolutely adorable! And a wonderful story about finding yourself in a new country and coming to terms with circumstances. I loved Lena's best friend, Addie (can't wait to read her story next!). If I didn't want to go to Italy before, I certainly do now!

Review: Letters to the Lost

Letters to the Lost Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such a sweet story. I cannot get over the letter correspondence/emailing between Declan and Juliet - it shows just how much more open you can be with someone when you are not talking to them face-to-face and there are no "real" consequences. You know, until you decide to make it "real."

This has to be a top recommendation for this year! If you haven't read it, you must!

Review: I Will Always Write Back: How One Letter Changed Two Lives

I Will Always Write Back: How One Letter Changed Two Lives I Will Always Write Back: How One Letter Changed Two Lives by Caitlin Alifirenka
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a beautiful story of friendship! The fact that this is a true story just blows me away. It's also eye opening to how you really don't know how good or bad people have it in other countries, and Caitlin's selfless acts of kindness for Martin and his family are so heartwarming.

I would love to have a friendship as strong as Caitlin and Martin's is in this book and afterward - especially one with someone overseas! I don't think you can make this kind of connection with someone online. Letters are so much more meaningful!

Review: Alex and Eliza

Alex and Eliza Alex and Eliza by Melissa de la Cruz
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this telling of the romance between Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler!

I cannot say that I know how accurate their romance is portrayed, but I did enjoy it, and I think many other historical fiction/romance fans will love it as well. There was a great banter between Eliza and Alex, most of which Eliza totally owned him. It was also great to have a colonial female character who was ambitious and did not want to be a 'typical' woman of that time.

Review: Standing By

Standing By Standing By by Tabitha G. Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved all the characters in this story - they were so relatable to how my friends and I were in high school, as well as the relationship I have with my own brothers. Even some of the situations dealing with relationships were relatable. Overall, this book is a very engaging read and it goes by quick!

I have to admit, I want to know what happens to the characters after this book! :D
